Rocketfish soft cover is great with slight modification.

any time you have to add electrical tape or super glue or bubble gum to make a case work = fail.

i saw that plastic case in BB. it looked and felt very cheap.

EDIT: in response to the electrical tape mod. **Why im not doing it, and going with trimming it out** Not only does the tape get gooey under the skin in heat, but if you layer up too much accidental presses are easier.

Yea, so im very VERY picky about what i put on my phone.. it needs to protect, it needs to have grip, it needs to be simple with no crazy designed and logos, it needs to be very low profile.

I came across the rocketfish gel/silicone case/skin for the EVO.
Best buy, $20. Heckuva lot cheaper than the other options out there.
Slipped it on and its amazingly perfect for my tastes. Rocketfish had another type of skin, but it had diagonal edges in the corners, this doesnt.

Combined with my clarivue screen protector, i think my evo is well ready for ease of handling.

PROS: Low profile, good grip, no crazy designs and colors/logos, snug fit, protects the camera. Not a hassle to take off.

CONS: The power button and volume buttons are actually covered by the gel, so its very hard to press and get response from the buttons, my idea and suggestion would be to use an xacto knife and trim it out myself. Im pretty good with an xacto so this should be a nice touchup. Glossy silicone which will show scratches and wear. Matte flat wouldve been better for the rear.

The ultimate trick on mine for the buttons ended up being a little dab of silacon caulk in the case's button cavities. The eraser worked perfectly but I had to keep track of it when the case was off and the sides just didn't work.

Put a small dab of silacon caulk in there with your fingers. Let it dry for 10-15 mins. You are good to go.
