[ROM][5.07.2011][ED01]Community Rom V1.3

update-1.png

Wow. This is crazy how quickly this thing (thread) has grown!

Couple questions (coming from ComRom 2.1):

1. Is it necessary to full data wipe, or just the cache and dalvik?

2. Crap ... what was my other concern ... OH! I've patched for the stock keyboard and launcher and some other simple mods; after flashing 3.1 will I need to repatch those? or will they stick? I've backed up my data and apps using MyBackUpRoot (free version).

What's the score? Is it as simple as cache/dalvik wipe and then flash, or is it a bit more involved than that?

P.S. Thrilled to see DXC back in action! Gives me such piece of mind knowing he's around lol

Thanks :)

1. as long as you are on a froyo build EB01/EC01/ED01 you should be fine with cache and dalvik wipe

2. i have not flashed any of these yet. but it looks like 1.3 is a full rom and not just a patch so it will over write anything that is done already.
So depending on what the patches were this version may have coverd them . If not then yes you will need to repatch

I've somehow lost my clock, i checked the options under TSM, and i even toggled it both ways, but I CANNOT get it to show up for the life of me

it just leaves a gap where the clock should be in the status bar

I've tried resetting, heck i've even done a full data wipe and reflash 1.3...

and this has only happened since 1.3 btw, 1.2 worked perfectly

and P.S. the swype skin kinda sucks, i'm gonna flash back the original (with the one on the first post of course)

Right on. Flashed it with no problem.

However, as DXC said, being a full ROM, I had to re-patch all my previous "cosmetic fixes". This is getting to be a pretty sick forum!

EDIT: After playing with this for, oh, 10 minutes? I notice already how much faster this is over even v1.2! I know someone else mentioned it before, but I just wanted to reiterate the fact and really try and put some credence behind it!

I just flashed 1.3 tonight and noticed the same thing.

I just flashed 1.3 tonight and noticed the same thing.

This worked for me:
Go menu=>settings=>TSM parts=>statusbar settings and make sure there is no checkmark on hide clock then go down to text color, touch the outer circle near the white area then touch the circle in the middle, back out and try flipping the phone sideways so the screen goes from portrait to landscape. If that doesn't make the clock appear, just do a reboot and the new settings will take effect.

EDIT - also if you want the AM/PM to show make sure there is not a checkmark in Hide AM/PM

thanks for pointing that out adamklo, i guess the default text color is black for some reason beyond me, all is great once again with this rom :)

Edit: after carefully reading the changelog i see:
Status bar color changer - For clock and other mods to show text color must be changed from black to another color in Statusbar Settings/Text color" in TSMparts (will not take effect until reboot)
still don't get why it would default to black but the option to choose the color is pretty cool

I have few questions if you don't mind. I've been jumping back and forth to several different threads trying to piece together my answer, but I'm just not sure and I'm too nervous to proceed.

Current status: SC2.9.2 Voodoo with EC10

What I want: To give the Com Rom a shot, but I figure I should "do it right" and get ED01 (or EC01) while I'm at it.

What I think i should do:

I'm ready to follow Adrynalyne's instructions here -
http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...70-howto-get-ed01-official-froyo-quickly.html

Step 1 - Nandroid backup (done)

Step 2- Reboot to CWC and disable lagfix (after doing this do I reboot into OS and then shut down or should I avoid rebooting into the OS after disabling lagfix with a voodoo kernel installed?)

Step 3 - Follow Adrynalye's 3 steps
? Flash to DL09 via Odin (reboot)
? Flash EA28 update.zip via recovery (reboot)
? Flash ED01 update.zip via recovery (reboot)

This should result in me having the EC01 modem (have i lost root via this process?)

Step - 4 - I need to get CWR (and root?) - should I get 2.5.x or the latest 3.x (it seems theirs issues with 3.x)
I would just follow the steps in post #2 and #3 here? - http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...irst-time-rooting-walk-through-4-28-11-a.html
(I previously rooted and installed CWR by using DXC's Odin packages so this is new to me)
Is there a better way?

Step 5 - Boot into CWR - flash ComRom 1.3 - then enable lagfix - party

Any help/advice would be great - i just can't read anymore as I seem to be going in circles. My biggest fear is the switching from Voodoo to non-Voodoo and back to Voodoo at the right times and to get the best possible install of this Rom. I suppose I could just flash it over my EB01 modem, but I do like the latest and greatest when possible. Cheers!

Going back to stock and updating will give you the ED01 radio, but if you want the EC01 radio you can just flash that using Odin

Icu, you don't need to enable lagfix after flashing com rom. It will convert automatically. A wipe data/factory reset in cwm is also recommended after flashing com rom. Some have done with out, but many have hit snags with out wiping, namely with the gps. Obviously, if you decide to wipe data, make sure all your apps, contacts, and any other user data is backed up somewhere. All else looks good!

Good.luck!

Hey guys. Quick question, is there a way to stop my phone from automatically downloading apps from the market after a wipe? Its getting really irritating waiting for all that to download or cancelling them to get titanium to download so I can restore.
