Has anyone done any benchmark comparison between the roms available?

If not I'd be interested in knowing what would be the best ways to go about testing as I'd like to know how they compare in terms of performance.

If anyone is interested in helping out and providing any benchmarks for their roms I'll organize them in this post.

Thanks in advance,

You're gonna run into a stumbling block. Not all kernels are created equal. On my phone, some kernels will allow me to OC stable higher than other kernels.

But that really isn't the reason that this would be pointless. Let's say you can get your phone OC'ed to max 868Mhz. Great! But it's still a single processor running waaaaay under 1Ghz. The benchmark differences between roms and kernels will probably not be noticed by the average user.

That's not to mention that I have found that most roms operate faster after being given a day or three to "settle".

But don't let it be said that I stood in the way of a man (or woman)trying to be helpful. Who knows? I could just be blowing smoke out my ass... You might stumble upon a deep dark "dev" secret that completely unlocks are phone and leads us to nirvana!!

I don't think it matters which benchmark you use as long as you test everything equally and fairly and consistently.

Yes, this is actually more of a personal project, I just figured I should share the data results.

My plans aren't for overclocking. Most of the bench marking will be done at 600mhz on performance gov.
I'm also interested in figuring out what the major differences between noop, sio, and etc are.

The basic reasoning for this is: I use my phone as a WiFi adapter more than anything. I need to see how the roms run in the long run, along with the phone itself. Currently I've been running Hydro rom with the suggested install settings. I'm using EasyTether for my USB tethering and it seems to run good, but every now and then the wifi errors out and I have to reboot the phone. I've reduced the occurance by reducing my cpu speed back to 600 for now, possibly could have kept it higher. Also putting it on performance seemed to keep the signal solid.

But yeah, I'd like to basically run through the available roms for ZVD first as I have a spare ZVD now already setup on rooted with Kravens CM7.2. I'll do the ZVH roms once they are certified daily drivers as my ZVH phone requires reliability :)
