after backing up, wiping dalvik cache, and wiping data, i flashed the rom and installing gapps and then rebooted. it loaded the lg screen and then is at the android screen right now. its been there like 20 minutes tho. i think i read somewhere that if you make it to the android screen, your good its just loading. true or?

It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to completely boot up.

Which ROM did you flash, where did you download it and gapps from (links)?

sorry about that... someone posted it in my thread earlier. thank you for the androidcentral links. i will delete the old ones off my sd and replace them with these and try again. At least i have backups now :]

I clicked on the first link, and was redirected to one of those fake antivrus webpages, won't be clicking on the second link!

Here's the official download link for the aospCMod 0601 MMSFIXED build:
http://romshare.clockworkmod.com/322/225/aospCMod-VM670-20110601-signed.zip

Here's the gapps download posted in the OP of the aospCMod thread:
gapps-gb-20110325-signed.zip

Isn't there one now with the camera autofocus fix now as well? I saw it in the AOSP thread here on the forum.

Did you use the factory reset option inside of the recovery? It is ok to use that one. Do that and then reinstall the rom and gapps. It is often confusing what you are supposed to wipe before a new rom install. This is from AOSP's guide:

First you need to wipe/format your phone, in clockwork recovery: Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition. Under Partitions menu (or Mounts & Storage in 3.0.0.6) in recovery: Format boot, system, data, cache. Under advanced: wipe Dalvik Cache.

Install from another ROM - ROMRepo

I was still a lil scared using factory reset LOL. Ill follow that n will post how it turns out.

Success! Can't thank you enuf! It told me my phone wasn't rooted when I tried to reinstall titanium backup, possibly cuz of the new rom? Or maybe BC I used superoneclick? also (sorry so many ?'s) what's the Max CPU frequency I can toto? It now displays 864 MHz but i thought 600 was max

Download SuperUser by ChainsXD from the market, it allows other apps to have super user permissions once you are rooted.

Pry should have said I was rooted before all that recovery stuff and installing a new rom. I used superoneclick to do it. N it was fine. I still have superuser in my apps, tit. Backup says I'm not rooted tho..

im trying to install the rom from this site but when im in when i try to install it it says
'assert failed: and status 7 can someone tell me what to do because i really want to get this for my phone

What recovery are you using? When you say "rom from this site" I assume you mean AOSP.

Also you guys are putting a link to the 3/25 gapps but there is a 6/01 or something available.
Not sure if it is anywhere but the rom manager downloads though. :S
