[ROM][KANG][08/05/12]CM10 Release Canidiate 1

All I did was flash the ROM and gapps and then when I go into su and try to update it, it says it can't get root permission

Ok this is weird. Why didnt anyone else catch this. Its been out sense 3am this morning. :what:

My phone (as in, literal phone) doesn't work at all, dialing out starts but nothing ever happens, and I have to reboot to get data back. I'm going to wipe and reflash, see if that helps.

In case some of you don't know, Apex released a beta today that incorporates a whole slew of new JB features into it - the changelog is HUGE. I highly suggest you guys try it out, as the overall user experience between that and this ROM is awesome.

is Apex on android central or xda?...

Because I have root permission. at first SU wouldnt remember to grant root permission for apps, but then i just went into SU and manually set them. works like a charm

Sorry DK, wonder what happened. We were all focused on other things we didnt think that root would be broken since it was fixed (I know that for a fact) in beta 2. Sorry man... :'(

I used mobile Odin to flash every one of his releases since the alpha I used cwm5 if you need me to upload it for u let me know and when you say it doesn't work do you mean it doesn't go into recovery?

well for me personally, in the jb roms, when you try to use mobile to flash a kernel, it says that it can't find the mobile odin package

Same issues. Also, the phone part of the cell phone doesnt work, but that was previously stated.

well for me personally, in the jb roms, when you try to use mobile to flash a kernel, it says that it can't find the mobile odin package

well, for me, its able to find package but cant detect device info. Do you think its becuz beta3's root problem?

Like I said before, you either have a EMMC firmware version on your phone that is immune to the bug (unlikely) or you were really effing lucky. EMMC bricks don't happen every time. It's random. It could happen on your 1st flash or your 10th, or never (unlikely but technically possible).

as I said before eMMC check on the market quite clearly states that what you think is unlikely is correct, the USCC variant has the eMMC bug. Yup he has been super lucky ducky..

I'm posting a new reply instead of editing, since I got a load of PMs from people who apparently misunderstood what I meant, and I want to make sure everyone sees the explanation. Apex is a very popular launcher - it's not a rom. It's available in the Play Store if you want it. Sorry if my wording was confusing, but I was excited about the new features they added. DK's rom + that new Apex beta launcher (that's been updated for JB) = user interface heaven. I can't wait until the few remaining kinks are worked out so I can use this as a dd!
