I have ROM manager on my phone. I rooted my phone without a computer through a link that Paul gave me on XDA. It said to install it so I did and all went well but I've been reading that ROM manager is broken for the epic. If I keep it installed on my phone what will happen? What exactly is the point of ROM manager? Do I need it or am I fine with CWM? or is there a huge difference? I'm very new to rooting so sorry for all of the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I understand the concern with ROM Manager... in fact, it was probably I who told everyone not to use it, hehe. But some of the devs met with koush in the irc, and koush just changed it for the epic, maybe a week or 2 ago... because the downloaded update.zip ROM Manager used, was breaking our phones... but the way it is now, ROM Manager now relies on the kernel for recovery booting, and I designed the Clean Kernel to support both reboot recovery, and ROM Manager commands, as long as the filesystem is RFS. Note that all kernels and ROMs may not support ROM Manager yet, as of this time, but using my files lined out, it should work well, for flashing cwm, and any kernel updates I put out in the future.

Taken from the thread over at XDA I'm sure you followed :)
So my take is if your running an ext4 based ROM you should probably dump it :p

Yeah all the Roms I've been using are run through ext4. So I don't really need it, do I?

Hasn't Koush put out a version that will run ext3 and ext4? I think it's like 3.0.2.8 that I have running on my Nook at the moment.

My understanding was that ROMManager was going to start supporting our Epic with the latest CWM ( once the kernal is optimized ? )
