midnight v2.6

I just loaded 2.6 EXT4 and changed FS from RFS to EXT4. I love it. Very fluid, no lag. Hard to do an apples to apples comparison since some of the other ROMs I loaded were for RFS but this is the best so far IMO. Great ROM.

Nevermind, I installed 2.4 instead of 2.6 by accident and didn't have Launcher Pro on there.

Quick question, and maybe I missed something.

I just installed the ROM with no issue and then just installed the v3.0 ASOP Theme. Looks like the theme installed ok, since I have the new lock buttons and the background but the launcher is still the stock Midnight launcher (Phone/Launcher/Internet). In the video showing the v3.0 it had 5 icons across the bottom -- how do I fix that?

Thanks!

So, it seems like I'm experiencing the opposite. I installed this on a fresh DK28 install.. I'm running 2.6 with the 3.0 theme. It lags quite the bit. I've notice the screen isn't as responsive sometimes -- back takes an extra click sometimes, the screen hoses up an extra second when certain animations are running, SDCard reading takes FOREVER... etc...... Could it be the phone?

Guys I have been really busy and I working on transitioning to CW3 and EXT4 exclusively. I promise once I get caught up I will update this thread. For now follow the link that has been posted at the top for the latest info...

Thanks for understanding

I've read that the 2.6 update w/CW3 may or may not work w/the current zip files. Is this still a problem?

OK - I read the link in the original post that CW3 will make current zip files UNUSABLE.
Next question - can we use the 2.6 Dual w/CW2.5....?

Thanks and I apologize in advance for all of the simple questions.

One bug I found with 2.6 --

When you go to Contacts, you can't back out with the arrow. You have to home out. (at least on my device)

I posted about this earlier in the thread. For some reason, it seems to have fixed itself? I was having the same problem, but backing out of contacts works like a charm now! Weird?

Also, I didn't read all of this thread, but over at XDA Developers, ptfdmedic is leaving, or not working on anymore ROMs more than likely. He just released 2.7 today. We'll miss you man. Working on moving my gf up here now, but keep your donate links alive so we can all contribute! If not now, than later on!

i have ext4 set up. had the quantom rom on there. now I would like to to get the midnight rom on there. I have CWM v3.0.0.5. when i go to install the rom it says installation aborted. this is what it says:

amend scrippting (update script) is no longer sub ported.
Amend scripting was deprcated by google in android 1.5
it was neccessary to remove it when upgrading to cwm 3.0 gingerbread based recovery. please switch to edify scripting (updater script and update binary) to creat working update zip packages.
INSTALLATION ABORTED

It sounds like you're trying to install a version of midNIGHT that doesn't support CWM3. Try flashing v2.7, that should work in the new Clockwork.

i posted this in the midnight thread but wanted to get help on it asap. so here is the issue im running into:

What version are you trying to install?

midNIGHT v.2.6 and above only support ClockWorkMod v3.0.0.5

Just wanted to throw out a big thanks to ptfdmedic for all his work on his ROMs. We will miss your work. Family comes first especially in your situation and I wish you and your family the best. I will still check in from time to time to see how things are going on your blog.

Thanks to ptfdmedic. As a newbie coming to Android OS in Sept., I read your thread and felt pretty comfortable w/the directions given. Also, you, and the AC Team were always there to help answer my questions. I will keep you in my prayers for strength, health, & happiness in all of your further endeavors.

Take care and, as I follow you on Twitter as well as your blog, to keep abreast of your developments. Stay Blessed.
