I am wondering the same thing my Cappy is still stock and I keep going back and forth on loading a rom and this looks good

hmm, I want to flash this, but I don't see noob-friendly instructions for how to do it. Does he use the Odin flasher thingy or what?

nevermind, a little bit of reading answered those questions

up and running, I'm going to play with it a while before passing judgment, I'll have a report back tomorrow

So far so fast. It seems to be tough on the battery though.

Ran Quadrant on it, scored 1426. I guess that's good? :p

just ran it again since I think it was installing something last night and got a 1667. I must say I'm very pleased

If you really want to feel good about Perception, download the speedtest.net app and run it when full signal strength and check out your speeds. That is the special sauce!

I can't keep it running in my area though, so weaksauce for me :(.

No HSUPA for me on Cog, but my wife does not yell at me for not answering the phone when it doesn't ring anymore. lol

the last perception i flashed also ran through my battery REALLY fast. loved everything else about it but that was a deal breaker for me.

fyi, the speedmod kernel remedied this quite nicely. Give them a try together

I have never had better battery life than I've gotten from Perception 10.1.

Make sure you calibrate your battery as the phone may be lost. I routinely get about 12-14 hours and am around 50-40%. Can't beat it. DesignGears really outdid himself with this one.

If you flash with 100% battery you shouldn't need to calibrate. I guess doing it anyway wouldn't hurt though.

I have been using DG's roms since the SRE days, and Perception 10.1 is his best rom yet. I'm getting 20+ hours on a charge with moderate to heavy use, everything is smooth, and data is a beast. Been running it since release, have yet to encounter a single force close.

Also, for those of you that use Quadrant to judge your roms, it's pointless/worthless. Go on Xda and ask DesignGears himself about it (or any of the other Captivate devs for that matter) and see what kind of response you get.

For the record, I didn't mean to imply that quadrant was how I determined how good a ROM Is, I was just using it arbitrarily to test performance. As far as real life performance goes I certainly can't tell the difference between say 1200 and 1800. But it's still fun to see a larger number :)

Perception is a great ROM, I'll probably go back to it in time.
