This is the first gingerbread rom i've tried and I was actually very impressed. the ui is very snappy. i came from SRF1.2 and so far, this rom is much faster. also, absolutely love the boot animation.

my one question, is there any way to adjust the led notifications? it seems like no matter what, the led is flashing when my phone is idle and constantly on when the screen is turned on. i don't really like this so if there is any way to adjust it, that would be great.

Hey,

Had caught this in the first Hawk alpha, tried v2 but couldn't get stable. After going back to Midnight for a bit, my allshare wasn't syncing anyway - last tie to the best of the non GB roms .

So delved back in with RandomROM Hawk v3 . After a few FCs stuck with it and smoothed them out, std clear cache ,resets , reflash - but noticed less problems if I installed gMail before doing the Superfreeze . Also could do System update like PRL when first reflashed , but just tried after freeze programs moving in , ext and immediately FC'd hard when clicked.

Did load live wallpapers, did not load Theme as it changes batt indicator to batt instead of the blue ring my preference(over 40 eyes) , and FINALLY saw gTalk work with video via the phone with my FFC instead of sending the avatar or rear cam by flashing the SGS_Talk2_AV_1_33.zip . Had tried that same file and other variations before on a number of GB roms including Midnight 6.1 , the new Hurricane most recently with no success- but was either sending the avatar or rear facing cam or both on all .

Will see how the batt does and not tweak with this too much as last time i did the android framework came unwound and had to start over. Also wanted to post this feedback on XDA but still haven't got enough posts their yet .

Just installed version 2.2.1.

I really don't know why I overlooked this ROM for so long. Have been using SRF for a while, but recently just got really tired of the freezes and reboots.

Anyway, my hat's off to you for making this ROM. I've really enjoyed using it. Battery life has been OK, about 5%/hr on idle. Maybe that's because I have overclocked to 1200.

I was thinking of flashing v2.3. I have CWM 3.1.0.1 and the EE03 modem (Baseband version S: D700.0.5S.EE03 ??? honestly, I Odin'ed a modem several weeks ago; I thought it was EF02 but maybe not).

Either way, your site says any gingerbread modem will work.

Can I just flash v2.3 on top of 2.2.1? Will the settings preserve or do you recommend wiping x3 and installing v2.3 fresh?

hey Random Hawk,

Finally rooted my wife's Epic yesterday day and put v3 on it wow that thing is silky smooth now. She loves it thanks for the hard work. I've tried zillions of ROMs on the various phones listed below and I must say as a current Epic Touch owner PLEASE get a Epic Touch. I love your custom menu for the lockscreen and taskbar, I never seen a ROMs that gives you that much control over customization so easily. Bravo, keep up the good work.... Oh and GET A EPIC TOUCH!

I've been using this ROM since it was released and it is fantastic.

I had the fc problems and then I did a fresh installation and ran the journaling zip. No more problems. Whenever I upgrade to a later version, I run journaling. Seems to solve the problem for me.

My only issue is that I don't get the led notifications for email at all. Gmail or K9. Anyone else have this problem, or a fix?

Very nice.

Flashed 2.3.4 and have been running smoothly ever since. Battery life is very good...about 1-2%/hr idle. Very responsive interface.

I installed it with the EE03 modem. If I remember, the modem and the ROM are separate components, right? So, I should be able to use Odin to install the EG22 modem, correct?

Are there any real advantages of EG22 over EE03?

Think I finally sorted things out.

I was having major problems with 2.3.4 while using SBP shell. (I think I'll never be satisfied that I paid $15 for this and have never been able to use it well -- not on stock 2.1, not on stock 2.2, not on SRF 1.1-1.2, not on ACE, not on RR 2.2.1, and now not on RR 2.3.4. That's another story.) Anyone else using RR 2.3.4 and SBP shell?

Things with 2.3.4 were smooth until I upgraded from LauncherPro to LauncherPro Plus. I don't know why. Started getting a lot of FCs. Had to reinstall 2.3.4 a couple of times, which seemed to be temporary fixes -- until I went from LP to LPP. Also, LPP seemed to crash itself frequently -- mostly after exiting from the app drawer or just about any program.

I switched to ADW launcher, and things seem to be fine now. I suppose a switch back to LP would be in order to see if it was indeed LPP. But, given that I haven't done a fresh install since switching from LPP to ADW, I think it may be LPP.

Anyone else have this issue?

Someone please help me cause I'm ready to strangle the next person I see. I wanted to give this a shot so I downloaded it from the ramdom king website. And chose V4 lite. But when i go to install it in Clockwork mod it says it's installing V3. Once it boots, it doesn't have some of the apps this Rom says it includes. I'm really agravated. It's missing Tesla LED, Thinkfree office... I know ther's something wrong but I can figure out where i'm messing up. please someone help me.

I have a battery issue I need help with running this rom for awhile now when I charge my battery it says 100% but when I unplug it can be anywhere from 75% to 35% it just stops charging anyone having this problem any help would be great, thanks

I've had problems with the framework crashing in the Hawk variants so kept hopping back and forth between Hawk and Phoenix depending on my patience level but now that Thunderhawk is here it seems a bit more stable.

However I have an issue though and I don't know if anyone else is affected by it. My 4G radio cannot get an IP address when using any Gingerbread modem in Hawk/ThunderHawk. The radio connects but then goes into idle state and if I look at the properties the IP is just 0.0.0.0.
I've tried it in Froyo both Stock and Phoenix and it works normally so I know my radio isn't defective. Can anyone toss any advice or hints my way on how to get 4G working?

Anyway problem aside I still want to say thanks for this ROM, it's rocks!

Well, I've been having the same issue with 4G. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But if you turn 4G on and restart ur phone ussually that works for me. Hopefully this can get fixed on the next update. Other than that, I'd choose Thunderhawk over any other Rom. Please fix this.

I love this room. im coming from SRF 1.2. Great job Random!

One question, I cant get SetCPU to detect that I can OC it passed 1ghz. It only shows 100-1000. On SRF it used to show the full 100-1300. I had it set at 1200. I paid for SetCPU and can set on boot which I love. I DL Tegrak OC and it does show custom OC speeds but it does not set on boot.

Any suggestions on how to get SetCPU to work? Again, awesome GB ROM man!

I updated to EG22 and installed this ROM. Couldn't handle handcent so got rid of that and browser is bad so i have to use mini dolphin or something else.

now it's day 2 and it has rebooted 5x today. =(

Hey Lance, that's really strange u say the ROM reboots several times. I have not experienced that. The only thing I've experienced is when 4G is on and I turn it off the phone reboots itself. Other than that I haven't had any issues with it, as in my experience I got better results and battery life off of EG22. I hope u find a solution to ur problem.

I'm using Thunderhawck 1.1 if it makes a difference.

I have a hard time keeping up in all of the forums... ThunderHawk II Final is still coming. But I channeled all of my efforts into EI22 first. The EH17 final version will bear the more stable 7-lock mod (glass removed) for those that want the lockmod without sacrificing all stability...
