ROM recommendation?

I know there's a few of these threads, but each one seems to be asking for something different than I'm looking for.

So far, I've tried two roms. The factory 2.3.3 ROM with SenseUI, and CM7 nightly build from 9-1-11.

I prefer almost everything about CM7:

Overall better launcher than Sense.
More customizable
rooted by default
WiFi tethering built in
Google Nav actually works without a 3 minute delay to get a location.
Home screen auto-rotates with sensors, not just when you open the keyboard.


There's 3 things I miss though:

No T-9 input for the dialpad. This one is almost a deal-breaker by itself.
The HTC camera app seemed to be a lot smoother and more responsive. Better zoom adjustment, etc.
I kind of miss FriendStream for Facebook. (Least important because I use facebook very little)


Would you recommend a different ROM, or is there a way to got some of these things back? I am still pretty new to android.

Touchpal dialer solved the big one, so that's one problem down.

try mikshiftedG it was really smooth for a sense rom, and it has sense 3.0 elements so its really awesome.

i agree go with MSG 1.6 executive edition. so far ive been using it for a couple days and im loving it! everything works good no issues yet that ive come across with.

Is there an MMS issue with this ROM? I can send SMS fine, but MMS messages time out. Just installed this last night after downgrading. So far so good.

No not that i have experience. So far this rom is as stable as can be. Only issue i had at first was that my 4g and hotspot werent working. I reflashed rom and everything is good.

Did you restore any messages after the ROM? Maybe that is my problem. I backed up my MMS/SMS and restored. Never tried before restoring, but still can't MMS today.

EDIT: Sent a MMS to my phone from another and it seemed to clear it up. Who knows how, what, why, or when, but that's technology for you.

I've tried a bunch of roms - here's the ones I recall the most in order of preference. I've also tried some sense roms, but I like customizing my ui a lot, so they're no fun for me.

Rockmod - based on CM7 with a few extras thrown in (sprint's visual voicemaill), wifi and usb tethering built in and easily accessible through preferences.

CM7 - all around terrific mod, everything you need.

MIUI - beautiful and fast, really nice UI....the one thing holding it back is a dealbreaker, no 4G! If they get this working I'll switch.
