So I posted this over at xda 2 weeks ago, and wanted to repost it here for everyone's convenience. thanks!

so i saw the new htc ota update today, and updated successfully on my evo, so i was bored and decided to make a new stock rom with the ota included. this is pure stock, rooted, busybox, zip aligned, and deodex'ed & odexed. I added dsp manager and the amazon appstore. the release number is now up to 4.54.651.1. I tested flashing this in amon ra and the latest clockwork.

edit - have added the download for just the update file . extracted from the rom itself.

Also made a NON ROOTED VERSION of this, for anyone who needs one an arm's length away. Same as above, but again NON-ROOTED. flashes the same way through amon ra or clockwork. this does not touch your revolutionary S-off, but as with any non rooted rom always have a backup in place

i am S-ON with revolutionary not working for me because I was in the small number of people who's evo couldn't work with it. How would I go about flashing the deodexed rooted version of this on my girlfriends evo OTA?

i am S-ON with revolutionary not working for me because I was in the small number of people who's evo couldn't work with it. How would I go about flashing the deodexed rooted version of this on my girlfriends evo OTA?

If your GF's EVO is rooted then you can flash like any other ROM. If your not rooted then your pretty out of luck flashing anything other than stuff from HTC and Sprint.

yeah, the unrevoked beta that is newer still isn't working. i've tried about 5 times tonight. i'm lost, im using an epic and her a evo, my epic is rooted and on custom roms & kernels, but i'm LOST messing with this HTC.

I am currently rooted on stock rom. How can i go about just installing the update? Is it as easy as adding to sd card and flashing? Is there anything else i will need to do first? This will be my first update since rooting. Thanks in advance.

If you haven't already, set the USB to Debugging then try running unrevoked.

Settings > Applications > Development > Check USB Debugging

Another thing that could be causing issues is the Quick Boot feature. It should be under the Application settings to disable it.

If you've done those already, and it still won't work with unrevoked, then find out if your HBoot version is supported. If it's newer than the currently supported HBoot version, then you'll have to wait to gain root via unrevoked. To check this, Quick Boot must be disabled. Shut the phone off, then hold the power and Volume Down until you get to the white screen with the skateboarding androids at the bottom. The HBoot version will be at the top.

Sorry if it looks like I'm making you look like a noob. I'm not trying to, it's just how I explain things. I like to cover all avenues. Lots of people get angry with me when I explain things they already know (and I don't know they know it).
