I flashed my first rom today and I have since done one more. The first was Harmonia which is wonderful. Then I tried Rodimus which I like as well. What I am asking is whit the other roms out there which is the best? (your opinion) And how can I make a black notification bar with the drop down transparent and controls in the drop down? I have seen this in roms for other phones and I am jealous. Any help will be appreciated. If I am asking stupid questions please let me know and point me to where I need to go. I usually read forums and never post so bare with me.

IMO, aosp. comes with all the CM7 mods, settings, theme chooser and android 2.3.3. Very stable, only thing that doesn't work sadly is BT, but thats about it. Also has the most support and the largest community.
I've been wanting to go back to aosp for a while now. Battery life is what keeps me away. On Nameless Rom for now.

Your question isn't stupid. I assure you that there are likely tens of billions (hyperbole alert!) of users who've wondered the same question. Ultimately, I honestly think the best answer anyone could provide is this:
Take a moment, hyruu, and ask yourself 'What do I want to do with my phone?'
The devs here have taken the Optimus device and have provided us with quite a few options that cater to different tastes and interests.
You have the choice. Does a stripped and clean Froyo ROM that is a blank canvas for you to learn and customize on sound like something you have an interest in? Harmonia is there for you.
Do you want some cool customizations and tweaks already set up and good to go? Nameless is awaiting your install right now!
An old reliable that has some theming options available? Rodimus is exceptional.
Want cutting edge features with Gingerbread benefits with some theming options? aosp says 'sup'.
Bumblebee... slide... different kernel options... They're all there for the flashing!
Point is, unless drastic bugs exist (and these devs are *amazing* in working on those. Seriously.), it really comes down to what tingles your naughty bits when you read the ROM descriptions in their respective threads. Read the replies in the threads for user experiences and see if any of them match what your concept would be for your personal usage.
The question then becomes not so much 'which one is best?', but rather 'which one is best for *you*?'
Try them out. See which matches how you use and feel your device on a daily basis, and then you'll have your answer. We're very fortunate to have a lot of enthusiasts working to better our device. Give them a shot, then provide some feedback to help the next person who just gets their shiny new phone like all of us to help them decide which, for them, is the best of the best for themselves.
mmarz's sticky at the top of the forums is a wonderful reference to scope out your options and give you insight to what's available.

Thank you to everyone! I am running Harmonia with some UOT work done to it and I am loving it. Its fast and I currently have 85mb's free.
Never mind I can't get uot to install.
Got it working just unzipped and used Romtools to flash apk and bootanimation (not offense to yours I just wanted the R2D2 one).

So, this R2D2 one... does it fit the Optimus screen well? I have interest in scoping it, if you don't mind sharing the 'sauce'.
And grats. Now the next part is to sample roms to scope them all out just to see the differences. So, so addicting.

Yeah I found this forum where a guy named Dapcook on modmymobile.com forums re-sized every frame down to 320x480 looks and runs great. Here is the link...
