I have an at&t HTC one. I have twrp recovery and unlocked boot loader with stock OS. There is an available at&t ota update. Can I update ota or will I mess something up?

Hello

Normally its rule of thumb not to accept OTA updates while rooted w/custom recovery. However, one of two things may happen.

1. It will actually work.
2. It will fail during the install and you will have to revert back to stock recovery to accept the update.

I would recommend flashing the ota in recovery instead of taking the ota from the carrier.

Always unroot and stock recovery before any OTA, but as suggested you can install the OTA via recovery option.

I tried to update it to 1.29.161.11, but it didn't install and told me that im using a custom rom
I never changed anything from the software since i opened the box.
how do i solve this?
Also, how could i upgrade to version 4.2

I'm new to android so I lack knowledge

What carrier are you using? Sprint is still at 4.1.2 and I wouldn't know why it would say you are using a custom Rom if you haven't rooted the phone. Seems kind of strange to me.

My carrier is globe, but i didn't get the phone from a carrier
I'm from the Philippines, I bought my phone from a local store and it turns out, i have a UK version. Do i have to update the phone manually?
Is there a way to convert it to international version?

thanks

I would not have any idea about that.

As far as I know, all the HTC One's are the same. The ATT one in my pocket is identical to the international and uk version. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
