root and update

I have a galaxy sII that I rooted when I first got it. I just got an update notification from T-Mobile. If I do the update will that undo My root? This is My first android after multiple jailbroken iPhones. Thanks for your help.

You are best off checking the forum for your device, and see what happened to others.

Or check at XDA forums for your device.

It's pretty much hit and miss, as most carriers and manufacturers, just love to include new bootloader code into their update. Plays hell with the root.

Rule of thumb, if you are rooted, never take an OTA till you know it is safe.
