Root captivate glide

I really want to root my old glide but can't find much info about. Is there anything different because of the physical keyboard like special roms and kernals

I don't think the keyboard makes much of a difference. Some ROM's I'm sure aren't as supportive of it as others but all/most should work.
Samsung are easy to root. Have you looked at xda?

Looked at xda and downloaded a rooted rom zip. Unzipped it but can't figure out how to get it to the device or how to flash it. Any suggestions
