Root for S4 us variants

But so many people were whining that it would take weeks if ever.... BAHAHA! It cant be true.... ;)

I know, but I feel for the Verizon users since it will get patched prior to launch IF past Verizon behaviors are any indication!

What "root" means ?

I grabbed this definition from wiki.

Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem.

Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user. On Android, rooting can also facilitate the complete removal and replacement of the device's operating system, usually with a more recent release of its current operating system.

Ah, thanks!

Could avoid warranty ?

@tarball: stores like sprint and so on would say yes. But from my personal experience I've never had an issue. I believe there are ways to unroot at as well. But for one to know your device is rooted...they need to know what they are looking for.

I'm addicted to the phone

Nice but they should have waited until the Verizon version came out before they did this

I think this is an exploit used through the processor for the US variants. So maybe it will work on the Verizon regardless.

You can unroot before taking the phone in, and there is not really a way for them to know, so you would be safe in doing so. Though If you mess something up in the process I am not liable. :)

It will allow you to remove the bloatware etc.
