[Root] Samsung Epic 4G Official Froyo EB13 w/Optional EXT4

I'm a bit mixed up with your descriptions.

If your on EC05 and converting to EXT4/CWM 3.0.0.6 you DON'T flash that EB13-DUALFS-KERNEL.zip once done. That kernel will not work on EC05... Instead you need to finish the conversion by flashing an EC05 based custom ROM like Syndicate v1.1.0/Bonsai 4.0.1/midNIGHT v5.2.

If your on EB13 and converted to EXT4, once you flash that DualFS Kernel, then follow up by flashing a custom ROM before you reboot the system or leave CWM and that should resolve your problems giving you a successful boot.

The ANDROID flashing over the Galaxy S logo is part of that DUAL kernel your flashing, its showing that when it was first created that custom boot animations were put into use.

If I am wrong about your progress going off your description please let me know exactly where you are in the process. What Froyo version and what you are doing so we can plan your route to get you going successfully.
Sorry for the confusion. Here's what I did. When I started, I Odined Froyo ECO5 pre-rooted but no EXT4. I read somewhere in this thread that the only way to get EC05 plus EXT4 was to start with EB13 that had already been converted to EXT4. So I Odined back to EB13 then rooted (which worked fine) then converted to EXT4 (which seemed to work-it said so in the CWM screen) then the on-line instructions said to flash the EB13-DUALFS-KERNEL.zip and then reboot. Which I did. That's where I get the boot loop. The instructions I followed said nothing about flashing a ROM directly after the kernel. I do not have a EB13 for EXT4 ROM on my SD card. I do have the Syndicate Frozen 1.1 ROM for EC05 on my SD card which was my ultimate goal in this process. I hope this clears it up so you can help me out. Thanks !

Okay sounds like your on the right track...

Did you do this particular step below in the EXT4 process found in post #2 of this thread?
1. Go to this thread (download mirror) and download "EB13-stock-deodex.zip", place it on your SD card, boot into Clockwork, and go to sdcard>choose zip from sdcard>(navigate to "EB13-stock-deodex.zip" on your SD card)>(select it using the camera button)>yes
If your using the stock EB13 that you got when you Odin back to EB13 then that is probably the problem your up against.. Either way keep following my instructions and we should get you going.

No problem, since you seem to have converted to EXT4, flashed the DUAL FS kernel and since you already have Syndicate on your SD card then...

Download the "EC05 Modem.tar" file I'm providing below and boot into download mode. Then open up Odin and place this EC05 Modem.tar file in the PDA slot, then hit START. This will flash the EC05 modem for you.

EC05 modem.tar

Once that is completed then pull your battery and reboot into CWM, wipe everything 3x then flash the Syndicate ROM and you should be good to go!

Report back if any troubles...

In the future, if you ever decide to Odin back to EB13-stock and update your device to official EC05 you can use the link below to convert to EXT4 and everything should be fine. Either way once you follow my instructions above and you flash the Syndicate ROM, you are basically at that point upgraded your device to running "EC05" because its a ROM built using EC05 base.

When I did step 2 run.bat didn't show up

You need to download the OneClickRoot file, then extract that zip file to a place on your hard drive. You will then see the run.bat file in the extracted files. If you don't have Windows setup to show extensions then it will be shown as run (MS DOS BATCH FILE).

It came up as run.sh
There are two run files.

run.sh (SH FILE)
run.bat (MS DOS BATCH FILE)

The highlighted one is what you want. If you need to you can go to the top of your Windows screen and select the following to show the extensions. TOOLS>FOLDER OPTIONS>VIEW TAB>Uncheck Hide Extensions for known file types.

ok after i download the 32 bit driver do i extract it? and if so where? sorry im new to rooting
Yes the drivers normally come in a zip package. Just extract them to anywhere on you computer or make a "Extracted" folder somewhere easy to find on your computer. Then goto that folder after extraction and run the driver package inside.

Initial driver installation on the computer takes a min or two... Then you will need to put your phone into Debugging mode (Settings>Applications>Debugging) and then plug in your device via cable to your computer. It should recognize and continue to install the composite drivers which could be quick or take a while depending on the speed of your computer.

After that you can then attempt to run the OneClickRoot pgm.

After this step, everything seemed fine.
But animation of 'android' starts popping outta no where, and vibrating loop? happened.
What should i do?
