I've Trying to root the Optimus S for a while and no luck.
Please Help me Root the Optimus S and Install Another Rom. Thanks

Well to point you in the right direction - What Baseband Version is your phone currently running?
Go to:
Settings - about phone - (V9, VC or VD)

I noticed there's all this talk of ZVD baseband, mine is LS670MVD, but the guide for that says its been replaced by the ZVD rooting guide. Do I still use the ZVD instructions on a MVD baseband?

I could be wrong, but I never heard of the MVD version.

mvd and zvd are the same
sw=zvd
baseband=mvd

you should just be able to root it as it is

Mine shows baseband version as LS670MVD_60401001. The SW Version is LS670ZVD. Follow the ZVD rooting guide. Worked for me.

you should just be able to root it as it is

I checked after i made my last post and i stand corrected! I was only looking at the sw=ZVD
