Root things without root?

I have noticed recently that there have been apps which used to require root and are now able to work without root. For example, Noyze volume works now fully without root and Greenify has options which work without root. I was wondering if there were any Xposed modules which were able to work without root.

The xposed module itself requires root to work, so no you can't use it.

No, I mean not xposed modules sorry, I mean any app which previously required root.
