Root to Tether?

Is it worth rooting my phone just to be able to tether a laptop, wii, etc.?

If you want to tether over usb, you don't need to root. You can just use an app like PDA Net. If you want to tether with a wireless connection, then you have to root. If you're okay with tethering over usb though and don't want to root, I'd say go with PDA Net. PdaNet -- USB Tether/Bluetooth DUN for Android
