I know the note 10.1 2014 was just released but I just want to see if someone is working on it?

Not looking for root but news of if someone is working on it.

I have not seen anything posted about rooting the Note 10.1 (2014). Also, XDA does not have anything on it in terms of root being worked on. Though, that doesn't mean someone out there isn't working to bring root to this device. Keep in mind that the high costs would also determine how fast this device is rooted. It's only a matter of time before we see this device rooted.

I can't wait for this thing to get root and the MultiWindow hack that allows all apps to work With it be adapted to this tablet.

I only need root for DSLR controller and Titanium Backup. I use DSLR controller a lot.

Ready for some scary / crappy news... according to famed Android Developer Chainfire, rumors are flying around that the new security feature known as KNOX in the 2014 edition has sort of an "eFuse" which trips if it detects a custom Recovery, and if so VOIDS THE WARRANTY!! So you can still root without tripping KNOX, but as soon as you go any further (custom recoveries, custom kernels, etc) you will trip KNOX eFuse. This issue might just be slowing development for the device.

I really hope that this ends up being false. My 32GB black version comes in tomorrow, and I really want to load up custom ROMs once available, but not at the expense of voiding the warranty. It is a shame if Samsung really is going down this road... :'(

Motorola was one of the first to start with that and it was bypassed but Knox seems to be the same as what some of the Motorola devices had. Motorola had a locked bootloader and any attempt to break it will cause the phone to pretty do the same as Knox so I hope there's a way around it.

But then again, I don't use custom ROMs on my tablet. I guess I will have to wait to see what happens. I was hoping to pick up the new 10.1 this weekend since I just got some gift cards but I'll have to wait.

Right now, the only other tablet is going to be what ASUS brings to the table or wait for the new Nexus 10 and hoping it has 64GB or more memory.

Looks like there is a "Bounty" set up for the first Dev to get Root for this device. I have pledged a few $$ to speed up the process. Take a look over here.

Well that was quick... WE HAVE ROOT!

Brought to you by BeansTown106 via ChainFires Auto-Root. Check it out here.

**Note** This appears to trip the KNOX "eFuse". Doesn't cause any physical harm to the device, just makes it so Samsung knows you have rooted it. I imagine given time, even that issue will be fixed with something like ChainFire's "Triangle Away" app for previous Samsung Devices.

Anyone that can, I would suggest contributing to BeansTown for his efforts. He is planning to make custom ROMs for this device if he can raise enough to purchase one.

Hello. I'm from the tab 2 forums. Does this multi window hack work with tab 2 7 inch?

That's quick. Thanks. I will have to pick up a new tablet when I get home from my travels.
