Root?

has anyone successfully rooted their G4, if so have you experienced any issues?

I haven't rooted yet but I have kept up with all 1,000+ posts in the thread over at XDA. If you follow directions exactly, there shouldn't be any issues.

I did it with success. No issues thus far just follow directions to the letter and all is good.

All carrier versions have been rooted. Only one of the international variants and T-Mobile have unlocked bootloaders.

rooted the day it was releases, phone has been improved since then....no more carrier bloat and ads are all gone now

I've rooted my T-Mobile G4 and the only issue I've noticed is that my phone no longer will lock up due to horrendous lag multiple times a day.

Anyone know if OTA's are supposed to work on the rooted version? Getting Greenify for battery life might make it worth rooting, but on phones of my past, I got so tired of flashing ROMs.

From what I've read, taking an OTA will undo your root access, at least with the current root method.

Yeah, you don't want OTA's once rooted.

Until boot loader unlock is available, only T-Mobile and international version will have ROMs anyway.
