Rooted Gingerbread Available for DX2

That was quick. Thought we would have to wait longer. Do we have to wait until the currently available ROMs are ported over to Gingerbread though?

I have another question. I think I found the answer somewhere, but I didn't bookmark it, and now I can't find it again. Sorry.

I'm getting prompted to install the Verizon OTA update, but I don't want it. Is there an app I can freeze with Titanium to stop it from prompting me every hour so I can install the rooted GB?

Thanks, and again I apologize for not bookmarking the answer to this question.

To answer my own question you have to wait for the ROMs to be updated with GB. There are a couple in the works right now.

Yes you can but you need to be rooted and edit the build.prop file into basically tricking Verizon into thinking you already have the update. I am rooted with the Affinity ROM and do not get any OTA notifications.

I'm already rooted, that's why I don't want the OTA update until I can download and install the rooted GB version.

I can keep postponing the update until I get home tonight and run the install procedure.

The install ran without a problem, I now have rooted GB on the X2.

I've noticed that battery is draining faster than it did with Froyo. Is that because the OS is actually taking advantage of the dual core now? And, are there more apps running that are safe to freeze than there were with Froyo?

Thanks for all the help I've received here.

Yesterday my battery drained more quickly than it has since I bought the phone. Today the battery usage is better than it has ever been since I bought the phone. The only problem I've seen so far is the green LED stays on after the phone is charged in the multimedia dock. When I removed it from the dock this morning, the green LED would not go out, so I restarted the phone, and right now the battery shows 74% remaining. I removed it from the dock at 6:00 this morning.

It is starting to seem like the battery drain people are experiencing may only be for the first couple of days where there is a lot of syncing going on per people from the soak test. Not sure if there is any truth to this but your performance seems to mirror that theory.

Not sure about the LED light problem though.

Had the Led problem for 2 days and I think it deals with the battery. I say this because I cleared my battery stats let the battery completely drain then recharged and haven't had the green light issue since.

I have had it where my battery will charge for 8 hours and only be at 80% the next morning...
Also where both the red and green LED will be on(notification LED) but have yet to figure out why?

I installed the OTA update and lost my root. How do you root the X2 with the update already installed? I am new to this, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Good luck trying to get an answer. I cant get help trying to get the update to even work on my phone which I managed to root.

For those with odd battery problems look into calibrating your battery. There are apps that can help if you're rooted already otherwise there is a good post on xda forums on how to do it manually. Sorry don't have access to it right now.

This who updated to GB via OTA on Verizon you need to SBF back to stock froyo, then root, then update via P3droids all in one installer or P3droids pr-rooted GB update. Once again directions on XDA forums.
