Does anyone have any details on this? After a glitch in CWM bricked my phone, I'm curious as to how a carrier can determine how a phone was modded.

Can't someone just make up something like, "Yeah, I think the charging socket is bad and I can't power on my phone anymore."

Any ideas on this?

get a new battery and sbf/odin or whatever it is, They are sold at half charge.

Replacing the battery? I'm not sure how that would fix anything if the thing won't even take a charge from an AC adapter. I'm not terribly concerned about getting the phone replaced as I have coverage through both Best Buy and the thing is still under MFG warranty to boot.

Verizon would just be able to replace it quicker, hence my inquiry as to how a carrier can tell if a phone has been modded.

If you have a "half charged" battery you cold fix it to stock then replace it...that is what I would do, but it is your phone.

If you're running CWM, you can't charge a dead battery or while the phone is off. A new battery and flashing AmonRa actually will fix your problem
