I have just a few old(er) phones (S8+, Note 9) that I wondered if its worth/able to root/upgrade the OS .. from Android 10 to 11, 12, 13 .. only 4G, but thought of maybe using one as a music server to put in the car? Didnt know if this was better here or in the Android group .. Just wondering if rooting was easy enough to upgrade the OS?

US version were harder to Root because the bootloader but XDA forums can help probably have to look into old articles , I have made sticky here for flashing stock firmware incase u get into trouble lol, either way most likely going need to get familiar with Odin, don't put important data on this device because it's not as secure like current Samsung on stock firmware.

I'm just planning to use it as a BT Music server, platform for our tesla, cheaper than the $100/yr streaming, or slap a sim card in for 4G backup phone.
