Rooted OTA (2.11.605.9) Files

I spent a weekend trying to get this right, blab, blab, blab....You've heard it all. I've got "Infectus" loaded on here, used Revol. to root a long time ago. In the restart choices I now can select hot restart, bootloader, and recovery. Is that part of 605.5? Because that is new for me. BTW, what is Hot Restart? I don't really want to start over, but if I must, can we do this via PM. because I must be screwing this up royalty?
Thanks for your time,
Ron

I do not know "Infectus"... I'm guessing it's some custom ROM.... and if that is the case, leave your device alone and get off this thread, unless you want to go back to Stock VZW ROM. It doesn't sound like you need to load a different ROM, unless you want to.

Most times a custom ROM will have options to "Hot Restart", Bootloader, and Recovery when you select Restart... I've never used Hot Restart, which is where you can load your new or change your Radio... and Recovery is how you load a ROM, which I believe was loaded by Revolutionary, or can be updated by using ROM Manager.

so here's an interesting thought I had about this new radio. (i'm still on .5 and not on .9 yet).
And this is only a thought, so please correct my thought process if wrong.

the question:
if i'm rooted via revolutionary, and if I upgrade my radio to new radio .9, i should still be able to unroot via revolutionary (if I had to for some reason).
I'm thinking, it's not the new radio file itself which was blocking users from gaining root on a nonrooted phone, it was other junk in the OTA that is patching up the exploit, correct?

for instance, to be able to gain root via revolutionary, be on software (which includes radio file) .5 and not .9, though, to unroot is still/should still be ok, no matter the radio file i would be on correct?
(revolutionary wouldnt need me to bring my radio back to .5 from .9 to unroot correct?)

sorry if the questions sound confusing.

This may be a stupid question but does it matter which file I flash first? Or if not is there a "better" sequence?

@dwatcool: Have the same issue with Samsung Galaxy Note which has Standard Software: It says "resuming audio" after every call. Did you find out how to switch that off? Has anybody else an idea?

upload it to mediafire or megashares please. hate when you guys try to be greedy.

I had this, and discovered it was a Bluetooth app I had installed. I can't remember its name now (as its gone), but it was called Blue something.

Uninstalled the app and now the resuming audio speech is gone.

JRocker,

Been reading up on rooting and such the last few days as I've grown tired of my basic thunderbolt over the last few weeks.

I recently reverted back to 2.11.605.5 and rooted with Revolutionary. Following the root and reload of the OTA 605.5 I was able to get wireless tethering working fine through 3G, (as I'm aware I wireless tether app doesn't broadcast the 4g tether [which is ultimately what I'm looking for], so I was not getting speeds from my iPad that showed an increase over their ty 3g network)

Last night I flashed your 2.11.605.9 and radio listed beneath. Cleared data, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik cache, ect.

Now I'm having a hard time getting the tether to work again. This time I used OpenGarden as I read it tethered the 4g speeds. I am able to broadcast a signal from my thunderbolt, I can see the access point from my iPad, but I am unable to get an IP and a connection via iPad.

Is this a known issue with the latest flash? Am I on the right track? Should I settle with tethering 3g speeds? Is this a tether app issue?

I'm going to locate the wireless tether app I used before to see if I can at least get that to work.

Sorry this is my first root project but the phone is definitely rooted and s-off'ed...

Thanks for your help!

d4mn you! That was one of the first threads I read over and tried installing prior to resorting to posting here...

of course it worked flawlessly this time...

Thanks for the expertise, don't have a clue what I did wrong the first time!

Will be around, I'm sure with more stupid questions, this is too much fun... Can't believe I didn't root when I got this thing when it first came out...
