rooted- unrooted- and a bunch of #!# in between

Hi Boca,

Sorry to hear about your issues but let me give this a shot for you.

1) Am I understanding correctly that you have now run RUU? Meaning you took your phone back to a completely stock phone? If no, I would do that now just to get you back to square 1.

If yes this should be your next process.

2) Go to THIS link and read the first post really well. additionally there is a link to a youtube video if you learn visually.

3) The process that i linked to is what gets you back to root-friendly version of Android.

4) Now that you've followed the instructions and watched the youtube videos, and are currently on a root friendly build of Android .... I HIGHLY suggest using simpleroot

5) Simpleroot is very intuitive and doesn't really need a lot of explanation but you will need usb debugging enabled on your phone and also need HTC Sync installed on your PC (simply for the drivers ... app can be unstalled)

If at anytime you have issues during this process just either search THIS thread and if you cant find what you're looking for, just post the question in that same thread i just linked to and everyone will help out.

Cheers!

This is a dbl post from the thread mentioned above as I am getting a bit frustrated hitting a dead end again and getting no answers yet

This is a no go-

After installing SimpleRoot- and then Rom manager, ROM Manager does not work at all-- no functions work

I redid the entire process- very slow-- exactly-- it all went smooth-- no errors-

Rom manager - 2.5.0.3 will not work- will not install SteelRom, reboot, or do anything at all.

Phone is rooted for sure as titanium loads etc etc

So if anyone has advice pls help as I need a phone that works with all my apps and contacts-- and it is getting tiresome restoring this stuff

Have you tried clicking Fix Permissions in Rom manager?

If Steel doesnt let Rom manager install use another rom

Flash the new rom In recovery...

if you cant do any of this you need to go back and ReRoot

If Rom manager isn't working though you need to try Fix Permissions in Rom manager first... This usually clears any little weird issues up...

Do you have the superuser app installed?

i do now.

Does Rom Manager have permissions?
not sure where i can tell u that--

when I run Titanium or Rom M. I assume superuser is supposed to log the event etc, and show a popup for a root SU -

but that is not happening-- log and apps is empty in SuperU

I had a problem where Titanium wasn't working properly and said it didn't have root access. Try uninstalling it and redownloading it, that worked for me.
