Rooting a Replacement Phone?

I got a replacement phone because people couldn't hear me on my Optimus V. Well, after the swap I could not root the phone using any method and it would fail at the super one click. I've rooted, flashed a custom recovery, and flashed a custom rom on 2 other OV. Another bummer is that they disabled the hot spot tethering via superbox app also. Good news is people can hear me now. Anyone know a work-around?

There was another report from a user that he could not root the 2.2.2 OV. Maybe they have blocked it now.

Rooted my friends with no problem. Got it out of the box yesterday.
