Rooting/Backup/Mac

Hey Guys,
I'm new to android. I've been a solid apple guy for a few years and have become disappointed in the last few year in their lack of innovation. So, I now use android tablet(Samsung Tab S2) and Note 5. I love them but really want to keep them secure and back up their images to my Mac. Can anyone tell me how to back them up with all their data like the iPhones backed up to iTunes? I heard I have to root and use Titanium ,but I am having trouble rooting with Mac OSX.

You can use Google Photos or Google Drive for free cloud storage which is easily viewable through any internet browser, unsure about automatically backing up to a computer.

Also, are you running 4.x or 5.x Android? Most 4.x devices are easily one-click rootable with Towelroot.
