So I was following this guide for rooting my EVO and got all the way to the part where I reboot, it checks the new PC36IMG.ZIP, and starts installing. I got a Fail-PU for the radio and then a Bootloader Fail-IC. Which means I basically can't get into anything other than the recovery screen. My phone is HBOOT 2.10.0001 and Radio 2.15.00.11.19. I just got the phone 30 days ago so I was running 2.2 with all the latest OTA updates.
I'm trying to follow the guide on the forum to get back to stock (or any ROM for that fact) but now I've run into the issue that HTC Sync will not install, no matter what version I download. I'm running Windows 7 x64 and I get a "The installation of HTC Driver Installer 3.0.0.005 appears to have failed..."
So first things first. How the heck do I get Sync installed on a Windows 7 x64 PC?
Second, how do I recover. I assumed that I could just download a good version of PC36IMG.zip and put it on my microsd card manually and then reboot and it would install correctly. If so, where can I get a good version of that *.zip file?
I've been all over this forum and can't seem to find what I'm looking for, so if someone could throw me a bone or point me to the correct thread, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Bish
