Rooting Note 2 GT-N7105 Qustions.

Hi ,
I have recently gotten my first android device after a few iPhones and I was wondering a few questions and I hope that you good people here won't flame me for them if the questions sounds too noob-like.

Device info - Device from Singapore a 4G version. Android version 4.1.2
1. How do I check if I have an unlocked model?
2. What does unlocked bootloader mean?
3. How do I root my device?
4. Does rooting wipe my device?
5. Is there methods to root without wiping data?
6. If no methods to prevent wiping of data , how do I make a backup of my device fully to restore after rooting?

3. Google chainfire root galaxy note 2. Afaik that method supports every note 2 on android 4.1.2
4. rooting does nothing but simply added a new app that gives you root access to the android OS. Itcant do anything on its own unless you give it permission. This process does not harm your exis4ing file system in anyway. So to answer your question, it wipes nothing.
After root you can install titaniumbackup from the playstore. This will do and ENTIRE backup of your internal memory and you can either save to external sd card or pc. Your choice.

Thanks again for the quick reply. I would try it later and would a locked bootloader or an unlocked one makes a difference?

I know nothing about bootloaders that's why I didnt answer those questions. If the phone is factory unlocked then rooting shouldnt make a difference. Google is thy friend.

Any other guys willing to help out? Anyway , is cf-auto-root and cf-root the same? can it both root without wiping data?

Cf auto root is what you want. I might not have mentioned this before but rooting CANNOT wipe your device. All you are doing is an adding a special app call supersu. If you know anything about jailbreaking in that process you are adding a special app called cydia in the process. Essentially they both do the same thing
