Rooting question

Hey everyone. I unrooted a week ago to get the MC2 update. And now when I go to root with the toolkit and I choose option 3 after selecting the MA7 build from the build section so I can flash ROMs. When it takes me to Odin and it lets me choose which file I want there's a small lock icon on the zip file that it wants me to flash. Does anyone know why that's happening? Do I have to back to MA7 to be able to root? Also when I'm in Odin it will say added and then it will remove my phone and nothing will happen after that.

No reason to go back to ma7. Mc2 will root the same way. Something is happening during the process that messes it up. The method I used before and after mc2 had me pull battery out of phone as soon as process completed. But I'm not familiar with the root toolkit. Hopefully someone here can help

Thanks for the help but I used Odin to flash using this method and then installed twrp the same way

Really no reason to unroot either. Find a good rom that gets regularly updated and has the mods you want. Ive been rooted since november and have received every update given.

yeah, I don't have a clue why anyone unroots to get an OTA update; within a day or 2, dev's will have new roms out that incorporate the update, and have any updated modem/kernal ripped out seperately...

I love roms. I get all the newest features from the international versions that take forever + a day to come out in the states.
