Rooting The TF700T And Installing A Custom ROM

Got it. Yeah, I've checked for updates pretty often and I haven't had a new one in a while haha
Okay, I most likely will at least want to check out that CROMi-X or a ROM that's close to Android 4.4.
Thanks for being patient with me, guys; I wanted to at least talk to someone who knows about it before only trying to follow just a set of instructions I found online.

No problem. Let us know if you need further assistance :)

Sent from my Galaxy S4 running SlimKat 4.4.2

So far so good. I've been busy this past week so haven't gotten to this until today. I was able to unlock my device first try, for which I was grateful. And now I'm on to the custom recovery. I downloaded TWRP 2.6.3.1, but I just noticed version 2.7 was released over the weekend. Should I just stick with the older version for now? I didn't see much as far as feedback from users, though I may not know all the right places to look... :) How would I (even if I could) upgrade to the newer version if I already have 2.6.3.1 installed but wanted to upgrade? I was looking over the feature list on their site and wasn't sure if it would really benefit me (just getting into this, not exactly fluent in the language of programmers/rooters/etc.). Just wondering if 2.7 would be worth it or if I should stick with 2.6.3.1.

TWRP 2.7. has only been out for a few days - too soon to tell if it's worth upgrading or if there are bugs that need to be ironed out.
You install it in fastboot, the same way you flash 2.6.3.1 - or go here and grab the flashable zip sbdags made:

Okay, I wasn't sure if having a different TWRP version installed already had a different installation process. I used the fastboot method to install 2.6.3.1 and I like that way. Probably will stick to that if I do upgrade.
I also got CROMi-X running smoothly, very much so enjoying the options this opens up. Wasn't too sure about what different launchers did, but I tried some out and I think I'm going to stuck with Apex. Just started today, though, so we'll see :)

Good choice. Just read that so far there is no confirmation that TWRP 2.7 is backward compatible with pre-KK roms. It is build for the new KitKat roms, so for now I would stick with 2.6.3.1
