Rotating bezel accidental turning

Hello, I have not yet found one of these in the wild to play with so I have a question about the rotating bezel. Is there any issue with it getting accidentally turned by long sleeves?

Just from my experience, wearing my thick leather jacket has caused a few accidental turns of the bezel. My fix is to take the watch off and set it down for a moment and then put it back on. Since I have Samsung Pay enabled on my Gear S3 Frontier it asks for the PIN again. I don't enter it for the period I am wearing the jacket. The watch face is still visible but I am unable to access the other functions again until the PIN is entered. When wearing long sleeve shirts I don't experience any issues.

I have not scratched my Gear S3 Frontier LTE and having also owned the Gear S2 3G for a year I accidently hit the watch on external surfaces I thought might scratch it but maybe I was just lucky. I don't feel the accidental turns of the bezel is going to be a common occurrence, and certainly not enough of a concern to prevent the purchase of this awesome watch.

I've not had any problem with the bezel being accidentally turned. As for scratches, any watch that is worn will get scratched but the S3 seems to weather the storm fairly well and I am hard on watches. I am always banging my arm on something.

I've had the bezel turn maybe 3 times in the 11 days I've had it. I'll take a bezel turn any day to get all of the functions this watch has .. it is simply amazing. not perfect but incredible. fantastic job by samsung.

Nice. Yeah I'm looking for a smartwatch to use in the same way as my Gshock. I know the S3 isn't as rugged as a Gshock, but it seems like the only one that may come close.

Also I have small children that like to throw things... Lol.

Nixon mission? It's tough. Android wear..

I saw it, wasn't to sure. I'll check it out again. I tried an Asus watch last year, wasn't too impressed with Android Wear.

Google needs to release wear 2.0. I was looking at the Mission but decided to go with the S3 (for now) . Very happy with the decision.. Tizen is great on the watch, faces are excellent and Samsung pay is great. That said, the mission is a nice looking watch (I went to the mission store) and it is tough. Google will release wear 2.0 so if you need tough more than the Samsung features and are ok using wear 1.5 for now, I think it a good watch and really nice looking.

Yeah looks cool, but I dunno about the waterproofing. You have to fiddle with a little thing to open and close the mic for waterproofing. Seems lame to me.

You can leave the mic port open and close it only if the watch will be under water..it has a membrane which keeps moisture out when the port is open.. Anyway fwiw

I exchanged the Mission for the S3 Frontier. Nixon did a great job. The band was excellent and the watch was solid as a rock. The 3 negatives were that its taller than you think which i knew going in but was more in the way than i thought. It was always a nuisance and the other 2 issue which were not the watches fault but Android Wear were the battery life. It was 1/3 of what Tizen is and for some reason the watch had lots of "android wear not responding" lockups. Ultimately i found i was fighting with it more than just enjoying it. That could be fixed in 2.0 but 1.5 has been out forever and still stinks so i didn't want to get stuck trusting them to actually make it work well. Tried the dev preview on my Urbane 2 and it didn't look good.

No problem. Not worth $399 let alone $50 - $100 more than the Gear S3 watches. Watch faces are almost comically better and more functional on Android Wear but The Gear S 3 has so many more practical uses and the wheel is incredible. I use the stopwatch alot also. On Android Wear without a convoluted app and messing with it the screen shuts off. On the Gear it stays on until you are done. So many little things everywhere where Samsung did better adds up to alot. I hope Android Wear gets better. I'm not hating on it as i am a big fan but for the average non techie person who doesn't appreciate the customization of Android Wear or care the Samsung blows it away and the numbers prove it.

Poc charger is a no go for me! Gotta be wireless for a watch.

There is something you are supposed to do to close the mic???
