rotting easily...help

is there any way to root the optimus s easily....im new to the forum and to android....i wanna use this phone to its full potential.....what does rooting allow me to do???

I first rooted one month ago, and I am glad that I did. Overclocking seems stable and I gained alot more space for apps, plus there is added functionalities with the custom roms.

It's not necessarily easy, but read, re-read, then follow the instructions, and you should be fine. Look at the stickies to start with.

We're working on a one-click solution but there are a few small hurdles to jump before it will work. In the meantime the current rooting method isn't too hard, you just need to read and learn all you can about what you are doing before diving in.

thanks to you all. to me this is a little harder than it was to add the hacks to my palm pre. this a little more to it here. the command prompt is what you have to go through. im a bit nervous. lol
