Rubber tip on pen not working

I have this problem with cheaper pens. I wash with Dawn Soap and it is effective for a little while, but eventually does not work. I have tried hand sanitizer, no work. Hand soap, no work. Silicon grease, no work. Some more expensive styluses work fine. It is the type of rubber or something that the pen companies use. I bought a bunch of pens from Amsterdam Pen Co. and they all last about 3 weeks before I need to wash them.
