I'm at a Verizon store now typing on a Thunderbolt. I just finished a conversation with a store employee who said I better lock into an LTE plan now because Verizon sent an email out today to corporate stores indicating that LTE pricing will bump up to $49.99 a month starting March 25h. Obviously this is only a rumor and I don't trust store employees as far as I can throw them so take it for what it is worth. Maybe it was his fictitious sales pitch to get me to buy a new Bolt.

Droid-life.com already mentioned it and that was $49.99 for 5GB to those who purchased off-contract.

I had heard the 49.99 rate was for data only plans, meaning you only have data on your phone and no voice plan. But on a second note, if they did decide to go to tier data before may 15th(when the free hotspot expires) and I go to remove the feature, will would I lose unlimited data and be forced to go to tiered?

Not again......

49.99 is the special data only plan for off contract TBs.

29.99 unlimited is the plan for ALL VZW smartphones (iToy, WMobile, BB and Android) that are on contract.
