Just read some apparently official looking material on engadget that leaked from Sprint. Froyo could be coming to our phones tomorrow!

I saw that other thread, thought I'd start a new one as this is a new "rumor" actually backed by some evidence... but whatever if the mods want to delete/merge them then go ahead.

If it is available tomorrow, is it recommended to install it, or wait a few days? Didn't the last upgrade mess up the phones for some people and had to be recalled?

Yeah, it messed up people's phones who manually ran the update and then ran it a 2nd time when the HTC update notification hit them erroneously after they had already installed it. Hopefully they've learned from that mistake but hey, you never know.

So my thread about it coming out at the end of this month or whatever that got swallowed by the other one wasn't so unrealistic. Glad to see the backup and I'm willing to risk the brick. Then, it's just a matter of time till it gets rooted and all the functionality is back.

yeah, on top of that, the root exploit probably got patched. so if we update to the new rom, root would be gone..

Guess we'll have to wait another week or two for the root to come out..

Since I'm new to Android and have rooted becuase I get bored... I'll ask the question. If I update will it 'un-root' my phone so to speak?

We won't know for sure until it's released but it would be a pretty safe assumption that the answer to your question will be yes, you'll be un-rooted.

LOL... each place has it's own rules. On most other forums I've been on, rumors for single major releases were always merged. I see things are "looser" here.
