(RUMOR) Kit Kat Release Date & Changes

Ausdroid received a tip saying Kit Kat will be announced Oct 14th. Their source also claims to know some of the changes we should see with Kit Kat.

"The features apparently to be delivered in Android 4.4 include :

Firmware availability to older phones
Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
Miracast updates
New Gallery Visualisation
New APIs regarding animations
Change android default blue to other preset palette colours
New notification widgets"

What do you guys think of the new crop of rumors? I'm very interested in the new notification widgets if this holds true.

"Firmware availability to older phones" might be realted to Linux kernel changes allowing to compile one kernel for more ARM devices like it is in x86 and other archtectures. ARM manufactures initially screwed ARM support in Linux unallowing this, then Linux yelled at them and they finally started thinking

So say you are running GB then in essence you would be able to run any app and feature, "not hardware specific," as any other KK device using the older stock GB or OEM android customization builds?

I was thinking being able to install KK on older devices and have the same look and feel as stock KK but that's just wishful thinking.
