Depends on real world usage usage though. The 3a is a perfectly capable phone, not I missed wireless charging. But from a performance perspective, it was just fine. So if they can meet half way between the budget device and the $1,000 phone and then start the price at $600, that would be perfect.

I wholeheartedly agree. I mean Pixel 5 even if it's not a flagship phone with flagship specs but the right price like we're all talking about, I'll seriously consider it. The wireless charging my 3XL I don't even use. I still use a wired charger that came in the box. One of the things I probably want in it the next phone I purchased is 5G millimeter wavelength. The networking infrastructure is also not ready yet for the masses.

Exactly. I'll want some future proof and the phone always pushing forward in some regards. But the camera is top notch and I love stock Google. Just give me enough power to do basic tasks and I'm good.

Thank goodness that it's not cutting ties with Google. I usually buy my phones unlocked but it's good to know that carriers will still offer Pixel phones for those who will buy from their carriers instead of outright.

It'll be horrible news if Pixel 5 doesn't have SD 865, I mean there is the 'a' series for the mid range and cheaper option. It'll suck if they drop the latest available SD 8XX at that time. I don't care about prices need the latest processor specs and anyways they have the cheaper option with a series.

The popularity of the 3a tells me they need to stick to that price range.

Sales. If no one is buying the higher end model and the cheaper model is selling twice as many then it becomes simple math. Plus, when the Pixel 4 was released, look at all the criticism it received. It the same phone was priced at $399 with some downgrades it would be the best mid-range device on the market.

I understand that, was just saying I’ll be disappointed with no higher end option. Have no interest in buying some mid range processor and yes I know there isn’t big difference but still no interest

Just sad it finally took toll of the awesome high end pixel phones. Still love the 4 Xl. Is it overpriced, may be or may be not but i never cared. Anyway end of rant and I’ll see what happens in fall.

That being said, I was extremely tempted by the Pixel 3a - I almost bought the Not Pink version a couple of times - so I can understand if Google does decide to go that route. It's a great phone. The only reason I went for the higher end 4xl is because I was able to get it for $650. That's where I feel like the phone should be. And only $175 more than the 3a XL. But you can't go wrong with the 3a either. My daughter has been using one for about 10 months now and she's had zero issues.

What a great deal on the 4 XL! I can definitely see why you would have gone for it. I'm just hoping the 5 has an in-display fingerprint sensor or some kind of fingerprint biometrics. I am okay with using Face Unlock in conjunction with my in-display fingerprint sensor on my S10; but I am unsettled with Face Unlock being the only method of security on future devices.

It's much easier with the face unlock than the in display fingerprint on the Samsung phones. Agree ...and Samsung should of never ditched Iris Scanner was pretty good and secure .
