Running apps

How many apps are running on your device? When I hit the long hold Home button and I get the task manager and go to Ram and hit clear memory, it closes about 30 to 40 running apps.
So then I go to see what apps are running all the time and it still kills me that I can't close them up. I wonder how many apps are running on your phones when you do this process. Try it and let me know please. I hope I was clear enough.

You don't have 30 or 40 apps running you have them being cached in androids memory so that Android runs Faster/more efficiently. By killing them you force your device to re-cache them all
