Running Services vs Manage Apps - Running

Under Settings > Applications. What is the difference between "Running Services" vs "Manage Apps - Running"?
 
Running services are the apps that don't ask for user permissions to do there job. Manage apps you can manage thought various options.
 
OK, now to elaborate on the Manage Apps -Running. I have several apps listed, for example a few are Flickr, FM Radio, Maps, Qik, Sprint Football Live, Sprint Navigation, Swype. Which I have not used today or at all. I also powered off/on the phone last night and have not used the above apps since. Question, are these apps running, using battery? If so, will Froyo ends these by itself?
 
running apps are not consuming battery, those are simply residing in memory and if your memory should run low Android will close things that are not being used to make room for apps that you are using. If an app is running an active service it's consuming battery. I responded to your other post with a link that explains Androids multitasking
