Is it going to settle down? I have a T-Mobile unit. Battery life also hasn't been very impressive. Hoping it will settle down after a few days. Has anyone that has had the device for awhile experienced this? I just don't know if I should contact T-Mobile about it possibly being defective. I really love the device though.

What phones have you owned in the past? "Warm" can be a relative thing but this phone runs noticeably cooler than anything I've owned. Are you keeping your screen at full brightness?

I have the unlocked version, and the only time it has gotten noticeably warm was during the app refresh cycle after the update. Otherwise it's been running cool. My M8 would run warm for no apparent reason. I don't know if it was doing heavy internal cleanup or just happy to be in my pocket.

I've never had this phone get warm before. I started with a clean slate. No restore from another phone. Even after I set it up then updated it never got " warm". I didn't put a case on it for the first week and a half either.

Warm. I don't like it being warm. Even just using it for a few minutes. And my brightness is at like 35 %. I contacted T-Mobile about a replacement. I love the phone. I want it to work out.

Mine runs very warm as well whenever it tries to do something, such as downloading apps or running a game. I have used a metal phone before such as the M7 and the Nexus 6p, and it definitely gets warmer than those two used to get. I don't know if I should seek a replacement or just deal with it.

Have you tried a cache wipe through recovery? Checked which apps are consuming the RAM(random access memory)constantly? Tried a factory reset without restoring a backup?

Are you using the Boost+ app from HTC and its Game Battery Boost feature to keep games from trying to run at 2K resolution? That alone could be a big help.

I've had 2, and both run very warm compared to what I'm used to. No metal phone I've owned gets as hot as the 10.

Maybe it will smooth itself out. I'm just shocked because all the reviews and thoughts from real users have said it doesn't really get warm.

I have found that a tenuous Wi-Fi or cell signal will cause mine to get warm. 90% of the time it's cool to the touch. The case is a heat sink. The battery is connected to it. It WILL get warm. It's supposed to.

My phone is 105 degrees and battery is 96 but it's on the charger. Guess it's not that bad ?

Just got an HTC 10 to compare with my S7 Edge since I'm retiring my Note 4. It got warm while downloading all my apps from Google Play but seems to have cooled back down to normal in regular use today.

This thread seems to have died but I wanted to mention that my phone consistently gets to 100° with normal usage. Browsing the web or watching YouTube on wifi with the brightness at around 35-40%. I've gotten it to 113° while setting up and charging.

my phone has never gotten hot so I have no dog in this fight... my m8 used to get hot when I used it while it was on the charger but this phone doesn't do that
