S finder emergency update?

Ok, thanks. I am showing version 2.2, is that the latest updated version?

It's legitimate. If you ever have a doubt about a Samsung app, go to the Samsung App store and look it up. For S Finder, if you are logged into your Samsung Account you should be able to hit Menu in Samsung Apps and then choose Purchased to see that an update is there for the app. Purchased does not mean you paid extra money for - it includes some preloaded and free apps. Some of the preloaded apps will only show there when there is an update available.

Can you help elaborate on steps to see "purchased" Samsung apps (including free ones like you mention)? The only menu option I see is "payment methods", but maybe I'm in the wrong place. I believe I'm logged in. I've never purchased anything from Samsung apps store, but this would be a handy way to see free app updates. Thanks.

Tap on the Samsung App icon.

Tap on the upper right conner of the scrre.

Tap on Purchased.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm. That's where I tried, but I only have payment methods that show up in that menu. But thanks!

Are you signed into a samsung account and have you gotten any apps through the samsung app? If not, the purchased option won't show up.

I am signed in, but haven't purchased any. Just got the free ones on S5 like Milk music, s finder, s health, etc. But me having not actually purchased any probably explains it.

Yes probably so. I downloaded some of the extra features in the camera and they showed up as purchased apps in the samsung app, so did the s finder update even though s finder was native to the phone and not downloaded through the samsung app. It's kinda strange how that's working.

Don't remember if I saw that one or not, but I get notifications everyday about something that Wants to Update.

I just clear them out and ignore all updates. Good way to hose a perfectly working phone.

My 3 year old Galaxy S served me well for all of those 3 years without a single update. It never crashed because of a bad app. It did tend to lock up because it has a severe lack of usable free memory though at ~ 267 kb. made me back out of every app before I started up a new app.

S5 system update which claim that it will enhance phone's functional may drew the operation speed back. The latest update package was 100MB. too big to keep operating smoothly.

I even got the emergency update without having S Finder installed. I don't think it can be installed on Note 3. Nothing visible happened on install.

I just wish to correct my previous post. Correct info should be:
S - Finder is installed on my Note 3 and works fine both before and after the update in question (I just don't use the stylus so much so I missed it.)
