S-note help please

Hi All,
I want to get the most out of my SGN and as I've only had it less than a week am a bit confused about S-note.
I have opened S-note and chosen the journal template. There was a carnival pic which I deleted but now there's a big gap between where the pic was and the page lines.

My questions are

1) How do I get rid of the gap where the pic was?
2) How do i change my handwriting into text? I can't seem to find the icon.
3) Can I copy my journal template once I get it the way I want it?

1) I don't think you can, but if you want just a page with lines, then choose the style of Note. You can still add images if you want, and the lines start at the top of the page.

2) Once you click the edit button (far left; top tool bar - looks like a piece of paper with a pencil on it) other tools will open up. Click the T with the bar under it and a handwriting panel will open at the bottom of the window. Write in the panel and your handwriting will be transcribed.

3) If you set up your blank document, then choose Save As, you can use that as a template of sorts by reopening and doing another Save As (to preserve the original).
