S Note on S6 edge+

I was playing around with the S Note on my edge+ and things do not seem to be working correctly.

When I put it in Text mode, select the Background settings as "To do", which provides a checkbox list, and bring it up, I cannot seem to get the checkbox to select.

I am sure I am doing something wrong. Does anyone know how I can make the checkbox in the checkbox list selectable?

S note is working fine. Unfortunately, that feature(in Snote) for back grounds is more like an image than a selectable/ editable page.
