I installed S note version 5.2.04.25 because the latest version (Samsung being sneaky) removed action memo. I disabled auto update on Google play and Samsung app store. I tried to used Action memo last night and found out that S note had updated to the latest version. Anyone else get this problem? When I uninstalled it and try to install an the older version again I get a message saying it did not install file may be corrupt. I know it's not corrupt cause when I reset the phone I can install using the same exact Apk file.

The corrupt message is because you need to uninstall snotes before re-installing older version again, I have same problem with the updated version re-installing itself even though I have disabled it same way as yourself, scratching my head as this stage as I an normally quite good finding out these things

I did uninstall old one before installing new one. I go to apps, force stop, clear cache then uninstall. then I restart phone and clear partition cache. none of this works.

Samsung Notes has a similar Action Memo feature to S-notes. To link to action, after writing a phone, email address, website or address, save it first, then go into your saved Samsung Notes and you'll notice that the phone number, email address etc is blue. Hover the S-Pen over it and youll see an icon pop up. Touch it to link it.

It's not the same. Too many steps to get to the original Action Memo functions. I can't understand why they hamstrung it like that.

I said it was similar. However I have S-Note on my Note 8. I never update the app in Play Store. I also downloaded Action Memo from the Play Store.

Yea, I have it too, and don't update, but that's the whole point. Those of us techie enough to do this do it. It shouldn't be necessary. I've sent an e-mail to Samsung, for what it's worth.

... When I uninstalled it and try to install an the older version....

I know it's moot now, but I'm just curious. When you looked at App Manager, before you uninstalled S Note itself, was the option to uninstall the update there? Back when we did this on the N7, before I realized the Galaxy App Store had auto update on (only had turned it off in the Play Store), a couple of times it did update. Each time I was able to uninstall just the updates.

Then when I went back to my N5 (had already factory reset it), updates came thru somehow before I had a chance to turn them off. I was still able to uninstall the updates (hated newer, watered down versions of even S Note) right up until the Nougat update came. That had a "newer" version that didn't show any updates had happened, with no ability to uninstall the app at all.

Curious if somehow this version of S Note you got had the ability to prevent uninstalling the updates like that. (Paranoid they're gonna somehow get pushed to me, lol. Pretty sure after a month of tweaking this phone to how I want it, if I have to fr it, I'll Frisbee it into the Atlantic!)

EMGSM, wondering if you ever got this resolved. This happened to me overnight. I am so incredibly pissed off! I was using S Note & Action Memo at around 1am. Put down the phone, and when I woke up, opened S Note to see a message asking me to convert my (700+!) Action Memos to Samsung Notes. I've had Auto Update OFF in the Google Play Store (as well as Auto Update for the individual app) and the Galaxy App Store since this crap with the N7.

I just went thru all the same steps as you, and am getting the corrupt message as well. Ugh, feel like I'm gonna vomit. I use Action Memo multiple times daily for so many reasons (most recently this entire year managing medical info & drs for my elderly parents). I have them going back to the N3, and synced with my Note 10.1 & 12.2.

I got it!!! I was livid all day and just had a suspicion on how it updated (still shouldn't have tho), and why I was getting that corrupt message.

I recently added S Note to my Secure Folder. It had the updated version of S Note, and when I opened it I got the same message about Action Memo not being supported, did I want to convert them.

I uninstalled S Note from Secure Folder (it and all the add-ons have been uninstalled from the normal app location all day).

Held my breath and reinstalled the correct version of S Note (again), and it installed with no problem. It's currently loading my 1100+ notes (700+ Action Memo & 400+ S Notes).

Thank God!!!
