S-Off here aswell and currently running ViperOne M9, havn't rooted since way back on my Google G1.

Could you point me in the direction of where you got the Dev Edition thanks - Adam

I'm planning to S-Off and convert my T-Mobile version into Dev edition tonight so that don't have to wait for useless carriers to do the updates.

Yes you will get the updates. As far as losing root, as long as you flash a rooted rom you'll be good. If you mean losing s-off no. Once s-off always s-off unless you run the cmd to go back to s-on which you should never do
