Hi.
Does anyone know, why the Direct Pen Input feature ( the blue ''T" symbol that appears when you hover over a text field ) is only available in some Apps ? For me it would be very useful in S-Note or OneNote, but in both Apps it is not available.

Because the person who wrote the app has to include the function in the app. Since S-Note and One Note were written by good developer teams, it should have been (but some apps are "written" by people who copy and paste controls on a form and have no idea of what goes on "under the hood", so they couldn't call an API if their lives depended on it - they wouldn't even understand what that means - and that's what has to be done.)

I don't know if Microsoft will ever allow the S-Pen to work with the One Note. I have a Surface Pro 3 that has the pen recognition built into it but that is a Windows based computer and this is an Android based device.

Perhaps I am not understanding the problem...but I use my s pen with one note all the time on my note 4...and when I view my note on my Surface 3...everything is there.

I think I misunderstood the OP.

I use the S Pen all the time in One Note as well, syncs right up on my Surface Pro 3 also.

Yes. The s pen works. But the Direct Pen Input feature that converts the handwritten text into "searchable" text doe not.
I would like to be able to have my notes on my Mac and on my phone.. Both searchable.

You can set your option to tell OneNote to switch automatically to hand writing as soon as you hover your S Pen on the page. Works great for me! The nice thing as well is that you can use your finger to move the page around or switch to text entry (keep your S Pen away while typing).

I'm not sure I am following this whole thread. So you can use the S Pen to "write" in OneNote, but it is not searchable? Or did I miss this all together?
