My Galaxy Note 3 is stock and the pen is just not working at all. The screen is just not registering the S-Pen at all. It's also not detecting when I remove the S-Pen from its holster (however I switched off the option to disable pen detection when it was in the holster just in case, and restarted, but to no avail).

I know the S-Pen was working when I first got my phone (about a month or two ago), but at some point between then and now, it stopped.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks.

Can't offer you anything direct until someone sees this.

What I can offer is a Wacom Test and a S-Pen Hover test I was shown on the phone. Apparently it may not be there depending on the carrier. Mine is factory unlocked, like yours, so should have it.

Go to *#0*# it should come up.

I cannot offer further info if you get fails. I get a first fail then all passes with the pen on the WACOM test, I am waiting to find out more. It's just off slightly.

I have the same problem, if I understand you correctly. The S-Pen no longer produces a pointer on the screen and does not seem able to write or act on anything. Other S-Pens also do not work and my pen works on another Note3, so it has to be a problem with the device.

The settings are all turned on, as far as I can tell....

Do you think it would help to factory reset the device?

The phone is still under warranty. Bring it to the carrier's store and let them worry about the "why". (Make sure you have EVERYTHING backed up somewhere other than on the phone. They may opt to replace the phone.)

It's an intellectually interesting problem, but I doubt they'll ever tell you what went wrong, unless they can fix it right there by resetting something or by replacing the pen. (I have no idea what's in the pen, but there's SOME circuitry, because there's a sensitivity control, so something could go wrong with it.)

Did you find any solution to this problem. I am having the same problem.Note 3 S pen does not working at all. Please let us know how did you solve this issue. Thanks

I'm having the same issue with my recently purchased note 4. Woke up today any my spen not working, works on other notes, just not my phone. Something is wrong with my screen... 😕

I have the same issue with the SPEN not working on the Note 3. Under warranty I took it to the Samsung repair center. Handed it in and a day later they claimed it is liquid damaged. I challenged it is not possible and they say there is corrosion inside on the main board PCB due to liquid and beats me as to how any liquid can find its way there without damaging other parts. Now they claim samsung cant fix it under warranty.

For you or anyone who has this issue: I had the same problem. I tried everything and after about 2 months, I finally took the back plate of the phone. Several tiny screws and then found that the sensor had just got knocked lose. I plugged it back in (snapped it back in place) and it works like new. You're welcome for fixing your phone! Lol
